When CCPR is used for new construction, the success is dependent on a good structural design. When used where CIR cannot be logistically performed or in combination with CIR, the success would be the same as described in the CIR section. When used as an asphalt overlay, the success would depend on a good structural design and the adequacy of the selected treatment to mitigate the existing distress. The limiting factor of a well designed and constructed CCPR pavement is often the life expectancy of the wearing surface and not the CCPR layer. In optimum application situations, many agencies see their CCPR treatments last as long as 20-25 years.
