Ultra Thin Lift HMA Weather Requirements

The ultra thin asphalt application should be applied when weather conditions are suitable to handle, transport and apply the asphalt mixture in a manner that will ensure a quality finished product. The minimum surface and ambient temperatures shall be equal to or greater than 50 degrees. The pavement should be clean and dry before application.

Ultra thin lift pavement should not be applied on wet or frozen pavement. The application should not be applied in wet weather conditions or if the surface or ambient temperature is below 50^oF (10^oC). Application should cease if heavy rain is eminent.
