Suitable Conditions
Fog seals should be applied when air temperature is above 10°C (50°F), and pavement temperature above 15°C (59°F).
In extreme hot, dry conditions, it may be advantageous to lightly dampen the surface by spraying water to prevent premature break of the emulsion.
Unsuitable Conditions
- Fog seal emulsion should not be applied if there is any chance of rainfall and should not be applied during rain.
- Applying fog seal is not recommended when air temperature is below 10°C (50°F).
